My favourite author, Sir Terry Pratchett described his prognosis of early onset alzheimer’s as “an embuggerance” - a slightly frustrating road block in his plans. As a term, it’s a bit odd and quirky but dates back to British war time and was used by mid-level military to mean a slight and frustrating impedance of some sort.
